TeamTech Announces Everyone A Leader® DEI Focused Training

We are excited to announce a new Everyone A Leader® Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) focused curriculum. This new leadership training was developed in partnership with Brandi Turner, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF), and tailored to focus on the experiences of people of color. “People of color don’t always feel included in the workplace, and often don’t receive the encouragement to become leaders,” Brandi says. “This particular EAL training is designed to give them confidence to confront these unique barriers and adopt practical tools for transcending them.”

Brandi is currently working within DCF to provide this tailored EAL to staff, as she continues her training to become a certified facilitator in the full EAL curriculum. EAL’s DEI training is currently available only to DCF and other state agencies. We hope to offer this DEI-focused EAL curriculum to other organizations by fall of 2023. Contact us to receive information as soon as it’s available.

When Brandi facilitates, she applies the principles of EAL to the unique challenges people of color face as they aspire to become more effective leaders at work and in their communities. These DEI-focused EAL workshops place a special emphasis on how language, microaggressions and stereotypes can define, and sometimes limit, the possibilities people of color have to advance in their roles.

Brandi has 10 years of service with the State of Kansas, seven of which have been with the Kansas Department for Children and Families. Brandi studied Spanish as an undergraduate at Washburn University in Topeka, KS, and received her Masters in Healthcare Leadership at Friends University in Wichita.
