Andrea J. Routh, J.D.

Andrea is an organizational consultant with more than 30 years of executive management, strategic leadership, board development, health policy, and advocacy experience. She brings a unique blend of public and non-profit sector understanding and expertise to her individual and organizational clients.

Andrea is the CEO of The Leading Impact, where she serves as coach, strategic thought partner, and advisor for nonprofit executives. As an Independent Everyone A Leader® Facilitator, Andrea is certified to provide EAL to her clients. Before moving to Sarasota, Florida to launch her own business, she served as the Interim CEO of MetroCARE of Greater Kansas City, guiding its Board of Directors and staff through a complex merger process. MetroCARE assists uninsured people in the Kansas City area by helping them gain access to health care through a network of volunteer health care providers and health care facilities.

She also served as the founding Executive Director of the Missouri Health Advocacy Alliance, a non-profit statewide coalition of fifty consumer advocacy organizations and safety net health care providers, providing a united consumer voice for quality affordable health care choices in Missouri.

Andrea is an attorney with 15 years’ experience in Missouri state government. She served in policy and research staff positions with the Missouri General Assembly, was Governor Mel Carnahan’s Director of Policy Development and was Director of the Missouri Division of Aging.

With her deep policy experience in government and non-profits, she can offer clients a well-rounded perspective of the implications of their work within the community.

Andrea also served as a Division Director for Consumer Affairs and later as Assistant Department Director of the Missouri Department of Insurance, accountable for Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs.

Andrea graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Public Administration from what is now Missouri State University. She obtained her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1985. Andrea successfully completed the State and Local Executive Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 1998.

Keeping with her commitment to develop high-powered leaders in the world, Andrea spent much of her free time over the past 12 years training leaders with Landmark Worldwide, a global cutting-edge training and development company.
